KANSAS CITY PRIDE PARADE & FESTIVAL

JUNE 9-11, 2023

Kansas City PrideFest is an LGBTQ+ festival featuring a main stage with local acts, national recording artists, vendors, food trucks, family activities, and more. The festival will take place from Friday, June 9th through Sunday, June 11th at Theis Park. All ages are welcome. Sunday is focused on family friendly entertainment and activities. 

Q: Where is the Pride parade?
A: The parade kicks off at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10th from Westport Rd. & Broadway Blvd. It will march  south on Broadway, continue onto Mill Creek Parkway where it will turn LEFT onto Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. and continue to the endpoint at Theis Park. There is no charge to view the parade, just find your favorite location along the route. A map of the parade route can be found below.

Q: Where is KC PrideFest?
A: The festival is located at Theis Park, 47th & Oak St., across from the Nelson-Atkins Museum. You may enter the park from the West entrance located on Oak St. close to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. or the East Entrance located at the roundabout inside the Kauffman Memorial Garden parking lot; this is where the trolley will pick up & drop-off.

Q: What are the festival hours?
A: Friday, June 9th 5:00 pm – 10:00pm
Saturday, June 10th 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Sunday, June 11th 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Q: Where can I park for the festival?
A: Free parking is available at the UMKC Cherry Street garage located at 50th & Cherry St. as well as the many public parking garages throughout the Country Club Plaza. We will have shuttle buses providing transportation on a loop throughout these locations. Accessible parking is available at the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden, 4800 Rockhill Rd., Kansas City, MO 64110.

You may also choose to use one of the ride-share programs with the drop off and pickup at 4800 Rockhill Rd. or use RideKC Bus service to the festival. The closest stop is on the #47 Broadway route at Main Street & 47th.

Q: What is the cost?
A: The festival has a $5 admission each day; children 12 & under are free. Tickets may be purchased online at the link above or at the gate with cash or credit.

Q: Can I bring food and drinks?
A: We do not allow outside food and drinks however you may bring an empty water container which can be filled with delicious cold tap water as many times as you please at no charge, brought to you by KC Water. We will feature a selection of food trucks as well as a bar area for those guests 21+.

Q: Is the festival accessible?
A: We have reserved ADA parking at the Kauffman Memorial Garden parking lot with accessible sidewalk access into the park. Keep in mind, most of the park is a grass surface; we will have reserved areas near the sidewalks for accessible seating. ADA restrooms will also be available.

What items are ALLOWED?
· EMPTY water bottles to be filled at the Water Bar
· Chairs
· Blankets
· Bug Spray / Sunscreen
· Medication
· Strollers and small wagons
· Baby Formula
· Purses / small bags. All bags are subject to search.

What items are NOT ALLOWED?
· Outside food and drinks, including alcohol
· Pets/Animals: Only service animals specifically trained to aid a person with a disability are allowed and must be kept on a leash. The owner is responsible for cleaning up after a service animal
· Drugs
· Knives, weapons, or firearms
· Fireworks
· Tents, canopies, coolers
· No unauthorized vending, soliciting or give-aways
